Greetings from Colleen C. Pegram

It is my honor to serve as the Principal of SandHoke Early College High School. Being supportive in the college and career readiness of students, is the most fulfilling experience I have had in life. I can honestly say I have never had a bad day in five years I have been a part of the school. I have had some intense moments, but I am so blessed to be a part of an awesome team of educators who all embrace the mission and vision of this school. Quite simply put...every student will graduate with a high school diploma and two-year degree. Every student will be college and career ready upon graduation. I want to extend to all students and parents that we are in the business of servitude. We are here to provide your student a great education. It is imperative, you, the parent, are ready and willing to assist us in supporting your student. We can not do it alone. Please take time to familiarize yourself with the school's policies and procedures and practices so together we can be embrace the moment when your student graduates with a high school diploma and an associate degree. Let's have a great school year!

Parents and staff,

The Performance and Assessment Information available to you provides information about performance base testing, lexile and quantile score interpretation. This information will assist you in understanding your student's academic growth and what areas student needs to work on. It will also help you assist your student by ensuring they read novels, informational text, journals etc at a high level than the lexile score to help improve reading skills. Please take time to review this information. Together we can make students' dreams for their future come true.

SH is an in-school 1:1 program. We blend a Bring Your Own Device with chrome books available in each classroom. We recommend parents invest in devices for their students especially since they begin enrollment in college courses in the 2nd year.
We build in study time in our day for students to include SMART LUNCH, SEMINAR (Monday through Friday for Freshmen and Friday only for 2nd - 3rd year students). When students are not in college classes that time is available to complete course work and technology is available for student use. If you have a need for technology support in your home, then please do not hesitate to request our support. There is a required form to complete depicting policies for issuing chrome books to students to transport daily to and from school. Please note we do not provide internet access for homes. Google chrome requires internet access. Please see an administrator if you would like to request a chrome book.
