The Principal
Leslie Neal began her career in education at Hoke County High School, where she served as a social studies teacher and later transitioned into the role of an instructional facilitator. With a passion for educational leadership, Leslie embarked on a transformative journey through the Sandhills Leadership Academy, a rigorous program designed for aspiring principals.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Mrs. Neal earned a Master's degree in School Administration, equipping her with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead schools effectively. Mrs. Neal began her administrative experience at Hawkeye Elementary School and later transitioned to Cumberland County Schools, serving as an assistant principal and athletic director.
Mrs. Neal has garnered extensive experience as a K-12 school teacher and administrator, demonstrating a commitment to students, academic excellence and nurturing positive learning environments of both students and faculty. Most recently, Mrs. Neal has served as a high school principal in Sampson County. She is elated to return to Hoke County Schools and serve the SECHS Lion students and community!

The Assistant Principal
Dr. Stephanie McGirt has been at SandHoke Early College HS for six years. She instructed English II Honors and English III Honors courses for sophomores while ensuring the integration of powerful world literature and real-world issues. She has been teaching for Hoke County Schools since 2003. Her teaching experience also includes 15 years at the middle grades level focusing on improving reading skills while introducing students to reading great literature. Dr. McGirt made the leap into administration this year as our Assistant Principal.
